Policy Statement

BC CARE LTD is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment where every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression, feels valued, respected, and supported. We believe that diversity enriches our company, enhances creativity, and drives innovation. This policy outlines our commitment to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community and ensuring a safe, inclusive, and equitable workplace for all employees.


This policy applies to all employees, contractors, consultants, volunteers, and stakeholders associated with BC CARE LTD.


  1. Promote Inclusivity: Create a workplace culture that respects and values diverse perspectives and experiences.
  2. Prevent Discrimination: Ensure that all employees are protected from discrimination and harassment based on sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression.
  3. Support and Advocacy: Provide support and resources to LGBTQIA+ employees and advocate for their rights and well-being within and outside the workplace.
  4. Education and Awareness: Increase awareness and understanding of LGBTQIA+ issues through training and educational programs.


Management and Leadership

  • Model Inclusivity: Demonstrate inclusive behavior and set a positive example for all employees.
  • Enforce Policy: Ensure compliance with this policy and take appropriate action against any violations.
  • Provide Support: Offer support to LGBTQIA+ employees and create a safe space for them to express their concerns.

Human Resources

  • Training and Development: Implement regular training programs on diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a focus on LGBTQIA+ issues.
  • Recruitment and Hiring: Ensure that recruitment practices are inclusive and free from bias.
  • Policy Review: Regularly review and update this policy to reflect best practices and legal requirements.


  • Respect and Support: Treat all colleagues with respect and support an inclusive workplace culture.
  • Report Violations: Report any instances of discrimination or harassment to the appropriate channels.
  • Participate in Training: Engage in diversity and inclusion training sessions and apply the knowledge gained in daily interactions.


Reporting and Addressing Discrimination

  1. Reporting: Employees who experience or witness discrimination or harassment should report it to their immediate supervisor, Human Resources, or through the anonymous reporting system.
  2. Investigation: All reports will be investigated promptly and confidentially. The investigation will be conducted impartially, and appropriate corrective action will be taken if the complaint is substantiated.
  3. Resolution: Employees who are found to have violated this policy will face disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Support and resources will be provided to affected employees.

Support and Resources

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Provide confidential counseling services and support through the EAP.
  • LGBTQIA+ Employee Resource Group (ERG): Establish an ERG to provide a platform for LGBTQIA+ employees to connect, share experiences, and advocate for their needs.
  • Mentorship Programs: Develop mentorship programs that support the career development of LGBTQIA+ employees.

Education and Training

  • Mandatory Training: All employees must participate in mandatory diversity and inclusion training sessions, including specific modules on LGBTQIA+ issues.
  • Workshops and Seminars: Organize workshops and seminars with external experts to further educate employees on LGBTQIA+ topics.

Review and Monitoring

  • Regular Reviews: This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.
  • Feedback Mechanisms: Implement mechanisms for employees to provide feedback on the policy and its implementation.
  • Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on diversity and inclusion metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
